Honey’s Bistro, located at 6 Railroad Avenue in Glen Head, sprung onto the scene on Thursday, Jan. 8.

Though the building has a simple, white exterior, the inside of the eatery is an explosion of pastel-colored whimsy, complete with pink espresso machines and dog-shaped decor.

But, of course, it isn’t all looks — Honey’s Bistro’s menu features a smattering of soups, salads, sandwiches, and bowls, with names and flavors that are just as fun as the decor (think the “Don’t Go Bacon My Heart” salad or the “Spice Spice Baby” bowl). With monthly specials, it appears there’s always something fun to try.

“I have been waiting for this place to open for weeks and had really high hopes for a new lunch spot nearby,” Sea Cliff resident Kyle K. wrote on Yelp.

He tried the “Sweet as Honey” salad, which features grilled chicken, red onion, cucumber, bell peppers, grilled zucchini, and more with a honey mustard dressing.

“It was all fresh ingredients and tasted great,” he wrote, noting that the dish was “extremely unique” and a great size. To top off his meal, he had a lemon pastry.

“Not too sour and not too heavy, which was great,” he wrote. “All around great experience. That's how you start a business on a good note!!!”

Michelle D. of Mineola visited the restaurant with her kids, writing on Yelp that all enjoyed Honey’s Bistro “delicious and interesting flavors.”

While her kids had the eatery’s housemade chicken fingers, she enjoyed the “Harissa Explains It All” sandwich — a harissa fried chicken sandwich with tandoori sauce — and the “Benny Meets Hana” salad, which combines hoisin-glazed chicken with grilled zucchini, bean sprouts, ginger dressing and more.

“[The salad] was amazing,” she wrote. “Definitely recommend!”

Looking for a snack or a sweet treat? Honey’s Bistro offers fresh pastries made in-house and coffee drinks (made with Farmingdale-based beans roasted at Flux Coffee).

Jaime L. of Glen Head said on Yelp, “Adorable space, amazing service, and yum comfort food!”

“I can't wait to come back and try more!”

Honey’s Bistro is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
